Chapter 7 · 7.1
Email with WebOké: mailboxes, webmail and your email program
Every hosting package and email package from WebOké includes email on your own domain name, such as info@yourdomain.nl. In this article you'll read where to create mailboxes, how to read your email in the browser and how to set up your email program or phone.
Creating and managing mailboxes
You create mailboxes in DirectAdmin, the configuration panel for your package. You also set up forwarding, an automatic reply and spam filters there.
- Go to My Products and click DirectAdmin next to your package, or open the product page and click Go to DirectAdmin. See Go to DirectAdmin.
- In DirectAdmin, go to the email accounts and create an account. You choose the part before the @, a password and how much space the mailbox may use.
The steps within DirectAdmin itself, with screenshots, are in the DirectAdmin manual. You can also ask the AI assistant: it can create a mailbox for you, see The AI assistant: what can it do for you?.
Tip: just want to forward email to another address, without your own mailbox? You can also do that from My Domains, see Email and domain forwarding.
Webmail: your email in the browser
You can read your email anywhere in the browser at webmail.weboke.nl. On the website you'll find the Webmail link at the top right of the top bar (1), and also in the Tools menu.

- Enter your full email address in Username, for example info@yourdomain.nl.
- Enter the password for that mailbox. This is the password you chose when creating the mailbox, not your My WebOké password.
- Leave the Server field blank if your domain is hosted with us. Is your website hosted elsewhere and only your email with us? Then enter the server name of your package.
- Click Log in.

Where do you find the server name?
The server name is shown on the product page of your package next to Server (1), for example linux2410.webawere.nl. It's also in the welcome email you received when you ordered the package. Use Go to DirectAdmin (2) to go to your mailboxes.

Setting up your email program or phone
Always use IMAP in your email program (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook or the mail app on your phone). This way your email stays on the server and you see the same thing everywhere. Enter these details manually:
| Incoming (IMAP) | Outgoing (SMTP) | |
|---|---|---|
| Server | your domain name, for example yourdomain.nl | your domain name, for example yourdomain.nl |
| Port | 993 | 587 |
| Security | SSL/TLS | STARTTLS |
| Username | your full email address | your full email address |
| Password | the mailbox password | the mailbox password |
Please note: is your website hosted elsewhere, or do you get a message about the certificate? Then enter the server name of your package, such as linux2410.webawere.nl, for both servers instead of your domain name.
Step by step instructions per program are in the knowledge base, for example adding an email address to Thunderbird and adding a mailbox to Outlook.
Tip: can you suddenly no longer log in to your email program, or even on the website? After a few incorrect password attempts, the firewall blocks your IP address. Read how to fix this yourself in Am I blocked? Release your own IP address. Moving your email from another provider? Then read Migrating email to WebOké (including from Microsoft 365).
